Durch den pandemiebedingten Einschnitt fand er Zeit, seinem Hang zur Folkmusik nachzugehen. Unterst\u00fctzt durch seine Frau Mila Francis wurde aus dem zun\u00e4chst nicht f\u00fcr die \u00d6ffentlichkeit bestimmten Songentw\u00fcrfen dann ein konkretes Bandprojekt: Steve Leon &amp; The Accusations. Herausgekommen ist schlie\u00dflich die EP \u201eLouche\u201c mit f\u00fcnf Tracks, die in Richtung Indie-Folk gehen.<\/p>\n<p>Neben Francis, die Violine, Mandoline und Gitarre beisteuert, fanden sich Yannick Hermans (Gitarre), Bouke Cools (Pedal Steel, Banjo), Kristof Van de Vliet (Bass) und Tim Marens (Schlagzeug) ein, um die St\u00fccke in Leons Studio analog aufzunehmen. Die Sound wirkt unverstellt und wird von Leons voller Stimme gepr\u00e4gt. Francis bildet mit den hellen Background Vocals einen gelungenen Gegenpart.<\/p>\n<p>Die Band h\u00e4lt ihre St\u00fccke \u00fcberwiegend im Midtempo. Die Single \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=N0XXVjEM5c4\">Don\u2019t Let Anyone In<\/a>\u201c thematisiert die Schwierigkeiten in einer Beziehung, wenn sich ein Partner dem anderen nicht \u00f6ffnet oder nicht \u00f6ffnen kann. Lockerer wirkt \u201eThe Restless Kind\u201c. Rockige T\u00f6ne schlagen Steve Leon &amp; The Accusations bei \u201eToo Little Too Late\u201c an. Die letzten beiden Songs \u201eWinter Garden\u201c und \u201eAll I Can Give\u201c greifen die getragene Atmosph\u00e4re des Openers wieder auf und sind durchaus stimmungsvoll.<\/p>\n<p>Die EP \u201eLouche\u201c von Steve Leon &amp; The Accusations kn\u00fcpft musikalisch eher an den Indie-Folk britischer Machart der 1980er an als an den Alternative Country, dem die Band teilweise zugeordnet wird. Nichtdestotrotz ist sie ein weiterer Beweis daf\u00fcr, dass in Belgien \u2013 wie auch in den Niederlanden \u2013 zurzeit eine lebendige Szene rund um handgemachte Musik existiert, die ein Reinh\u00f6ren lohnt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Off Label Records (2023)<br>\nStil: Indie-Folk<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tracks:<br>\n01.
